Location and Hours

Location: TETBURY.Hours: 08:00 – 18:00 Monday to Thursday. 38 hours per week (four‑day week). Start date: Immediate start.

Pay and Status

Starting salary: £25,114.96 per annum. Permanent job.

Overview

Working as part of the highly skilled Survival Equipment Team, the Trainee Technician will undertake inspection & scheduled maintenance, repair and testing of a wide range of personal survival equipment and aircraft safety equipment. The position is fully supported and offers the opportunity to gain a recognised qualification in Survival Equipment. The programme equips you with essential skills and experience for a career in the aerospace industry.

Responsibilities

The trainee will work with all aspects of servicing & maintaining lifesaving equipment, including parachutes, liferafts, lifejackets and aircrew equipment for both military and civilian sectors. The work is performed at scheduled intervals to meet approved requirements and industry standards.

Duties

  • Servicing & maintaining survival equipment to company/OEM manuals & guidelines.
  • Performing scheduled maintenance and safety policies on all aspects of the escape system.
  • Disassembly, testing & fault finding of survival equipment/escape systems.
  • Repair & replace of components.
  • Performing operational and functional tests of equipment.
  • Repair and replace components.
  • Introduction to the Defence Engineering Air Environment.
