Sports Operations Assistant (Lifeguard)

The Role

As a Lifeguard at the Jubilee Sport & Recreation Centre on Highfield Campus, you will ensure the safe and efficient day‑to‑day operation of the facilities, providing a welcoming and professional environment for members and the wider community.

Key Responsibilities

• Swimming pool safety and supervision
• Responding to customer enquiries and providing excellent service
• Preparing and maintaining sports equipment
• Maintaining cleanliness throughout the facilities
• Ensuring adherence to health and safety procedures
• Acting as an ambassador for active lifestyles and Southampton Sport

About You

We are looking for professional, motivated, and proactive individuals who thrive as part of a team. Strong customer‑service skills are essential, as you will often be the first point of contact for customers and will support a wide variety of situations in a professional manner.

Qualifications

• A current National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) is essential, although candidates working towards the qualification will also be considered.
• Will undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and Right to Work verification.
