As Chef de Partie, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen and maintaining the high standards expected within Wellington College. Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and cooking fresh, high-quality dishes to an exceptional standard
- Supporting the Executive Head Chef and Senior Sous Chefs with daily kitchen operations
- Assisting with food preparation, service, stock control, and food presentation
- Ensuring food is prepared with care and attention, particularly around allergens and dietary requirements
- Maintaining excellent hygiene, food safety, and cleanliness standards at all times
- Assisting with stock ordering, stock rotation, and deliveries
- Supporting the setup and delivery of hospitality events, themed days, and special functions
- Helping to minimise food waste and maintain portion control standards
- Contributing creative ideas for menus and service improvements
- Building positive relationships with colleagues, students, staff, and guests
- Supporting a collaborative, professional, and positive kitchen culture
You’re may occasionally be required to support events outside of normal working hours, for which overtime will be paid.

Essential
- Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or within a similar professional kitchen role
- Passion for food and delivering outstanding customer service
- Strong organisation skills and ability to work under pressure
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high standards
- Knowledge of food safety, allergens, and kitchen hygiene practices
- Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (or equivalent)
- Positive attitude and strong team‑working approach
- Flexibility and willingness to support wider catering operations when needed
Desirable
- Experience within education, hospitality, or contract catering environments
- Experience supporting hospitality or event catering
- Pastry knowledge or experience
- Experience contributing ideas to menu development
An Enhanced DBS check will be required for this role.
