Kitchen Manager – South Yorkshire

Position Overview

We’re looking for a skilled Kitchen Manager or Kitchen Team Leader who is ready to take the next step in their career. In this leadership role, the successful candidate will shape kitchen operations, uphold high standards, and develop the kitchen team at Slug and Lettuce.

Responsibilities

• Support, coach, and mentor the kitchen team.
• Maintain high food knowledge and skill standards.
• Ensure up-to-date knowledge of COSHH, Food Safety, H&S, and legal requirements.
• Hire and onboard new team members in an inclusive and welcoming manner.
• Lead, guide and develop the kitchen team, ensuring access to training and growth opportunities.
• Maintain high standards of kitchen hygiene and food safety, creating a safe and organised workspace.
• Manage kitchen schedule to ensure efficient staffing while meeting labour targets.
• Conduct regular stock checks to ensure cost management and meet performance goals.
• Proactively increase sales and drive growth by fostering strong relationships between kitchen and front‑of‑house teams.

Qualifications and Skills

• High standard of food knowledge and skill.
• Experience supporting, coaching, and mentoring a kitchen team.
• Knowledge of COSHH, Food Safety, Health & Safety regulations and relevant legal requirements.
