We are seeking a STEM & Resources Technician to provide technical, practical, and administrative support across our Design Technology and Science departments. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to hands‑on learning and ensure our workshops and laboratories run safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare materials, tools, and equipment for Design Technology and Science lessons.
- Support teaching staff and pupils during practical sessions.
- Maintain, clean, and store tools and equipment safely.
- Carry out routine safety checks and report hazards promptly.
- Manage stock levels and inventories of materials and consumables.
- Provide reprographics support (photocopying, printing, laminating, binding).
- Assist with departmental events, exhibitions, and enrichment activities.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Experience working in a practical or technical environment.
- Knowledge of safe working practices and health & safety requirements.
- Ability to organise resources and follow instructions accurately.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and well organised.
Desirable Qualifications
- Training or experience in Science laboratory support.
- Experience with reprographics or print-room equipment.
- Vocational qualification in Design Technology or a related subject.
- Health & Safety or COSHH training.
