Consultant Paediatric ENT Surgeon

NHS Medical & Dental: Consultant

Job overview

West London Children’s Healthcare (WLCH) are pleased to invite applications for a full‑time (10PA) consultant post, based either between the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and West Middlesex Hospital campuses, or at the St Mary’s Hospital campus. We are seeking an experienced paediatric ENT surgeon to support our hospitals, specialising in complex paediatric and neonatal airways management as well as managing a significant elective and outpatient ENT portfolio.

On 1st April 2022, paediatric and child health services across Chelsea & Westminster NHS Foundation Trust and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust came together under a single and integrated governance and leadership structure creating WLCH.

We have an ambitious vision to improve the health and wellbeing of children and young people across West London through collaboration of clinical teams and by building stronger, equitable common care pathways with close links to research and education colleagues at Imperial College.

WLCH runs paediatric services from four sites, Chelsea & Westminster Hospital, West Middlesex, Hammersmith Hospital and St Mary’s Hospital. In addition, we are working in partnership with other acute providers in NWL and with our partners in community, mental health, local borough and voluntary sector services to improve care for all children and young people.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will be responsible for the efficient organisation and effective management of paediatric ENT patients. They will join a group of four senior Paediatric ENT colleagues at St Mary’s, or a dedicated Paediatric ENT consultant surgeon at Chelsea and Westminster.

The post holder will work closely with other teams on multidisciplinary management of children with airway disease, head and neck conditions and complex health disorders involving ENT.

This post is a new post and will complement the existing skills of the department with the flexibility to respond to current and future service needs. It is anticipated that the post holder will develop the paediatric ENT service as well as other subspecialist interests in line with the needs of the department.

The position is supported by a robust mentoring commitment through our extensive consultant team and is supported by the ENT network in North West London.
