Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant

Kingston upon Thames, KT1, South West London

Salary: £23,000–£28,000 per annum (term-time equivalent) | Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 8:00am–3:30pm

Are you a recent STEM graduate looking to gain valuable school-based experience before pursuing a career in teaching, educational psychology, or youth development?

A welcoming and high-achieving secondary school in the Kingston upon Thames (KT1) area is seeking a motivated Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant to support students across Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics subjects.

The Role

• Provide classroom support across STEM lessons

Qualifications, skills, and all relevant experience needed for this role can be found in the full description below. • Work with students on a 1:1 and small-group basis • Assist teachers with lesson preparation and practical activities • Support pupils with varying learning needs and abilities • Help raise attainment and student engagement in STEM subjects • Full-time position: Monday to Friday, 8:00am–3:30pm

Ideal Candidate

• Degree in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, Computer Science or a related STEM subject • Strong academic background and communication skills • Passion for education and supporting young people • Previous tutoring, mentoring, coaching or youth work experience desirable but not essential • Considering teacher training or a future career in education
