MECHANICAL ASSEMBLY FITTER

We are recruiting for Mechanical Assembly Fitter to work for our client who are in Leeds, West Yorkshire.

Duties:

  • Mechanical assembly and testing of special purpose machinery to meet customer requirements.
  • Ensure workplace standards are adhered to.
  • Adhere to company Health and safety policy and procedures.
  • Report any hazards that may cause harm to yourself or a colleague.
  • Escalate any parts, drawing, routings and machine faults.
  • Participate in investigations to determine non-conformance.
  • Document any data relevant to associated tasks.
  • Ensure that Stock control procedures are always adhered to.
  • Participate in any continuous improvement initiatives and provide constructive feedback to the improvement team.
  • Be flexible and move to other areas you are trained as and when the business needs dictate.

Essential Experiences & Skills:

  • Minimum of two years’ experience in the mechanical assembly and testing of OEM (original equipment manufacturer) machinery.
  • Working with mechanical assembly drawings /diagrams.
  • Machine assembly experience, including assembly of gears, bearings, seals, linkages etc.
  • Inspection and test of safety devices and guarding.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Apprentice trained engineer (NVQ 3 or equivalent qualification minimum).

The Hours:

Working a 4 days week, 37 hours from Monday to Thursday working 9¼ hours each day between 07:00-16:45.

Overtime is payable at time and one third Monday to Thursday and time and one half Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The Pay:

You will earn an annual salary of £31k-38k depending on experience and travel.

The company also pays £80/day overseas allowance for working in Europe and £100/day overseas allowance for working outside Europe. This excludes the UK, for which there is a separate allowance.

Holiday entitlement is 20 days per annum (based upon four-day week) plus statutory holidays, and in addition there is the company pension scheme.
