Hours
Term time: 6 hours per week, including weekends – early morning shifts. Holiday: 8 hours per week, may increase.
Location
Fawdon, Newcastle Upon Tyne.
Pay
£16.00 per hour.
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced individual to provide personal assistance and support to a 17‑year‑old boy with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Duties include assisting with wheelchair mobility, personal care, catheter management and encouraging his participation in recreational activities such as swimming, park visits and other local venues.
Qualifications and Experience
- Background in working with children with Autism.
- Physically fit to manage a wheelchair and assist in and out of the chair.
- Experience in catheter management.
- Trained in Manual Handling and capable of lifting and handling.
Other Requirements
The holder of this post must be male in accordance with the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014 and the Equality Act 2010. The successful candidate must have permission to work in the U.K. and be able to work early morning shifts and other flexible hours.
