The role
As a Vehicle Maintenance Operative, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will be maintaining, operating, and driving Armoured Fighting Vehicles and other specialist platforms, delivering critical support to the Contract in a dynamic and high-impact environment.
Day‑to‑day responsibilities
- Perform Level 1 maintenance and repairs to vehicle‑specific standards, following authorised procedures where training is provided
- Conduct preparatory tasks including minor repairs, cleaning, painting, and refuelling
- Support usage tracking and routine checks of stores and equipment.
- Manage collection and delivery of vehicle platforms as required
- Safely operate vehicles on public roads and off‑road, day and night
This role is full‑time working 39 hours per week and is based on site at Bovington, Dorset.
Essential experience
- Strong communicator, confident in representing the department during meetings and site visits
- Manual handling and physical working
- Must be 21 or older due to licensing requirements.
Qualifications
- Full manual UK Driving Licence.
