Maintenance Officer (Trade Skills)

Salary: £27,785 – £30,364 per annum, plus £610.08 Crawley Weighting Allowance per annum.

Hours: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year.

Overview

Crawley College is seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Officer to join our Estates & Facilities team. This role involves carrying out a wide range of planned and reactive maintenance tasks across the college estate. You will respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies, make routine inspections and health and safety checks, and work closely with colleagues and contractors to maintain facilities to a high standard.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance tasks across the college estate.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
  • Make routine inspections and health & safety checks.
  • Support day‑to‑day operation of the campus building and facilities.
  • Collaborate with Estates team colleagues and liaise with contractors where required.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Proven experience in a maintenance or facilities role.
  • Good practical skills across a range of trades (basic plumbing, carpentry, decorating).
  • Proactive, flexible approach to work with strong awareness of health and safety practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
