Apprentice Maintenance Assistant (Band 3)
We are excited to offer the opportunity to train as a Maintenance Assistant through the Level 3 Building Services Engineering Service and Maintenance Engineer program. This role allows you to earn while you learn, combining academic study with high-quality clinical placements. Throughout your apprenticeship, you will be fully supported by our experienced maintenance team as you develop the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to qualify as a Maintenance Assistant. Alongside your studies, you will play an active role in supporting the department and contributing to excellent patient care.

We are seeking a proactive and hardworking Estates Maintenance Assistant to support the smooth operation of our hospital facilities. This role is essential in ensuring a safe, efficient, and well‑maintained environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

What You’ll Do
- Carry out semi‑skilled maintenance tasks across hospital sites
- Conduct plant room checks and monitor essential systems
- Assist technicians and engineers with maintenance and repair work
- Ensure compliance with safety and operational standards
What We’re Looking For
- Basic knowledge of maintenance tasks (electrical, plumbing, mechanical, or building services)
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions
- Good problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to learn and develop within an NHS Estates team
