Teaching Personnel is recruiting for a dedicated and resilient SEN Behaviour Support Assistant to work across a specialist education setting supporting pupils aged 3–19 years. This is a varied and rewarding role, offering the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people with additional needs.
You will be required to work across different sites within the provision, all located within a local area (maximum 20-minute travel between sites).
Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with behavioural and additional learning needs
- Support students in managing behaviour and developing positive coping strategies
- Assist teachers in delivering tailored educational activities
- Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils across a wide age range (3–19)
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
- Work flexibly across multiple sites when required
Qualifications
- Has experience working with SEN, behaviour needs, or young people (school-based experience desirable but not essential)
- Is patient, resilient, and proactive
- Comfortable working with students across primary and secondary age groups
- Able to adapt quickly to different environments and settings
- Holds a full UK driving licence (preferred due to travel requirements)
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one – Teaching Personnel can support you with this)
- Availability to start September 2026
- A passion for supporting children and young people with additional needs
