Citi is looking for Apprentices to join our thriving Market Operations teams. Our Operations teams work closely with both clients and internal business partners to provide best‑in‑class service and processing support. This is very much a team environment, and apprentices will learn the skills needed for the role by job shadowing other team members, learning tips and tricks from experienced members of the team, and will be given exposure to a vast range of Citi technologies and learning materials to help you excel.
Programme Description
We’re committed to teaching you the ropes. During the program you will study for the City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Providing Financial Service qualification. Aside from your peer group and manager, you will have a buddy and a dedicated program manager while on the program plus access to Citi’s online training portal. Side by side job shadowing and coaching with your team combined with the opportunity to work gain experience liaising with Trading/Sales, Legal, Credit and other Ops counterparts in one of the world’s largest investment banks.

This program offers a hands‑on experience where you’ll learn directly from experts, contributing to real‑world operations that impact clients worldwide. Here’s a glimpse of what you’ll experience:
- Becoming a Transaction Pro & Risk Detective: You’ll learn how to process essential market transactions, mastering the details of how financial instruments move and how our systems work. This includes accurately handling data across multiple tech platforms. Think of yourself as a guardian, helping to spot and manage potential risks to keep everything safe and secure for our clients and the firm, even when things are moving super fast!
- Connecting with Global Clients, Fast‑Paced Style: You’ll get to interact with our diverse clients from all corners of the globe. Learning to respond to their questions and processing needs quickly and accurately is key to providing excellent service. This will help you build great relationships and understand how your work directly supports our clients in the speedy world of financial markets.
- Learning the Ropes of Control and Security: We’ll teach you all about the important procedures and controls that keep us, our clients, and the firm safe. You’ll discover how we securely manage transactions, how we flag and handle issues, and how we collaborate to minimize risks. This is your chance to understand the backbone of financial safety.
- Innovating for a Smarter Future: We love fresh ideas! In the fast‑evolving markets, there’s always a better way to do things. We encourage our apprentices to think creatively and suggest how we can make tasks more efficient or even automate them. Qualifications
- You have an A‑Level or equivalent
- 5 GCSE passes or equivalent with A–C grades in English & Math
- Successful applicants for this opportunity will enrol on to the Belfast Met Level 3 Course

The role will be based in a Citi Office in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
