Job Title: Unqualified Behaviour Teaching Assistant (Secondary Alternative Provision)
About Us: We are a dedicated Secondary Alternative Provision based in L4, Liverpool, supporting students aged 11–16 who have been excluded from mainstream education or require additional behavioural support. Our goal is to provide a structured, nurturing environment that re‑engages young people in learning and helps them achieve both personal and academic success.
The Role:
We are seeking a passionate, resilient, and proactive Unqualified Behaviour Teaching Assistant to join our team from September 2025. This role is ideal for someone with experience supporting young people with challenging behaviour, looking to make a difference in an alternative setting without necessarily holding a formal qualification.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students in and out of the classroom with behaviour regulation and engagement.
- Assist teaching staff in maintaining a calm and purposeful learning environment.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with students who may display emotional or behavioural difficulties.
- Implement de‑escalation strategies and consistent behaviour management techniques.
- Provide one‑to‑one or small group support where needed to keep students focused and safe.
Requirements:
- Experience working with young people with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour, or in an alternative provision – highly desirable.
- A calm, confident, and assertive approach to behaviour management.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport quickly.
- Willingness to learn and work as part of a supportive team.
- Team Teach training is a strong advantage.
