Catering Supervisor – Glastonbury – Contract: Full Time, PermanentSalary: £13.39 (per hour)Hours: 40 per week
Millfield Prep School is an independent co‑educational day and boarding school for pupils aged 2 to 13, located in Glastonbury, Somerset. We cater for around 550 pupils and staff each day, providing breakfast, lunch, and supper, alongside a vibrant hospitality service.
This 52‑week operation runs 7 days a week, with additional weekend residential activity for boarders, creating a varied and engaging working environment. The role operates on a 5 days out of 7 rota basis, including some weekend working (primarily during term time), balanced with:
- No late evenings
- Sociable hours compared to traditional hospitality roles
- Time off over Christmas and New Year
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily running of the hospitality and service operation
- Support and lead the team during meal service
- Ensure high standards of food quality, presentation, and cleanliness
- Maintain food safety, allergen compliance, and health & safety standards
- Assist with serving food, making drinks, replenishing counters, and clearing down
- Monitor stock levels and help minimise waste
About You
- Previous experience in catering or hospitality (supervisory experience desirable)
- A positive, proactive attitude with strong teamwork skills
- Passion for delivering great customer service
- Well organised with good attention to detail
- Comfortable working in a busy, fast‑paced environment
