Position Overview
Two fixed‑term posts are available to join the newly formed Student Support Centre (SCC). The SCC is a two‑year pilot for pupils aged 4‑7 years old with SEMH needs based at Savile Town CE (VC) I & N School. The posts begin in September 2026.
Roles
- Specialist Teacher MPS/UPS & SEN 2 – full‑time role with SEN 2 allowance.
- Reintegration Worker – Grade 9 – part‑time role, 30 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Support children at risk of exclusion, with or without an EHCP, and re‑engage them with their mainstream schools.
- Provide short‑term or part‑time placements for behavioural and emotional support within specialised units.
- Promote inclusion and improve outcomes for vulnerable children in Key Stage 1, facilitating successful transition back into mainstream school.
- Work in partnership with schools to organise, deliver and evaluate learning for children, involving parents/carers in the process.
- Collaborate closely with SENCOs, class teachers, support staff and other agencies as appropriate.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Disclosure and Barring Service Certificate at Enhanced Level.
- Relevant teaching or specialist experience in SEMH or behavioural support.
- Knowledge of SEN 2 framework and specialist teaching practices.
- Ability to work effectively with SENCOs and external agencies.
Contract Details
Position type: Temporary – Full‑time term‑time only (30 hours per week for the Reintegration Worker); contract end date: 31 August 2027.
Salary: £23,731 – £26,692 for the Grade 9 role. Hourly rate for the Specialist Teacher role to be determined based on the SEN 2 allowance.
Location & Hours
Warren Street, Dewsbury WF12 9LY. 30 hours per week & full‑time term time only.
