Driver Hire Edinburgh City is currently recruiting an experienced and reliable HGV Class 2 Refuse Driver to join a busy and well-established waste management company based in East Lothian.
This is an excellent opportunity for drivers seeking consistent full-time work, weekly pay, and the chance to secure a permanent position with a respected local employer.
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday
- 6:00am start times
- Minimum 40 hours per week
- Overtime available
- Temp to perm opportunities for successful candidates
The Role
- Driving a Class 2 refuse collection vehicle on scheduled routes
- Working alongside loaders and operational teams
- Ensuring collections are completed safely, efficiently, and on time
- Carrying out daily vehicle checks and defect reporting
- Adhering to all company and health & safety procedures
Pay Rates
PAYE
- £14.53 per hour
- £21.80 per hour after 8 hours
PAYE Advanced
- £16.28 per hour
- £24.42 per hour after 8 hours
Minimum 40 hours per week. Weekly pay. Ongoing work with permanent opportunities available.
Requirements
- Valid UK Class 2 (Category C) licence
- Valid Driver CPC qualification
- Digital Tachograph card
- Previous refuse, waste management, or similar driving experience preferred
- Good understanding of health & safety requirements
- Reliable, professional, and team-focused approach
