About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and driven Cleaning Manager to lead delivery of high-quality cleaning services within a Defence environment. You will be responsible for managing teams, ensuring compliance, and maintaining exceptional cleanliness standards, while delivering an outstanding customer experience in line with Compass Group standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily cleaning operations, ensuring high standards of hygiene, safety, and compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations
• Lead, train, and motivate cleaning teams to consistently deliver excellent service
• Manage staffing levels, rotas, and labour costs effectively within budget
• Monitor cleaning standards through regular audits and inspections, driving continuous improvement
• Maintain stock control of cleaning materials and equipment
• Build strong client relationships, attend review meetings, and contribute to monthly reporting
• Ensure all compliance documentation, COSHH records, and cleaning schedules are up to date
• Support wider soft FM operations and provide cover for supervisors where required

What Were Looking For

Essential:

• Proven experience managing cleaning operations or soft FM services
• Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
• Knowledge of health & safety regulations and cleaning compliance (including COSHH)
• Experience managing budgets, labour, and resources
• IT literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Full UK Driving Licence

Desirable:

• Experience within MOD/Defence or secure environments
• Knowledge of service management or auditing systems
• Relevant cleaning or FM qualifications
