Senior Sales Manager (Technical)

Location: City of London

Salary: £60 – £80K Base Salary + Uncapped Commission (£100,000+ OTE)

The Opportunity

Our client is a highly respected specialist manufacturer and design-led solutions provider, delivering premium workplace furniture and technical environments to some of the world’s most prestigious financial institutions and corporate organisations.

Due to continued growth, they are seeking an ambitious and commercially driven Senior Sales Manager to join their London team. This is a high-profile role focused on developing strategic relationships, winning major projects, and driving revenue growth across the City of London and key financial services clients.

The successful candidate will combine strong technical sales expertise with exceptional relationship-building skills, acting as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, architects, workplace consultants, project managers, procurement teams, and end-user clients.

This position offers a unique blend of account management, strategic business development, tender management, and solution selling, supported by a collaborative team culture and a highly rewarding commission structure that enables earnings from day one.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Sales Strategy

  • Develop and execute a targeted sales strategy to drive growth across the Financial Services and Corporate sectors.
  • Identify, prospect, and secure new business opportunities within key target accounts.
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities, consistently delivering against revenue objectives.
  • Leverage existing industry networks while actively developing new relationships across the City of London.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities to maximise market penetration.

Major Project Acquisition

  • Demonstrate a proven ability to win and manage high-value projects from initial engagement through to completion.
  • Lead complex sales opportunities involving multiple stakeholders and extended sales cycles.
  • Develop tailored commercial and technical solutions that meet client requirements and project objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal design, manufacturing, and project delivery teams to ensure successful project outcomes.

Client Relationship Management

  • Build meaningful and long-term relationships with senior decision-makers across Financial Services organisations.
  • Act as a trusted partner throughout the customer journey, providing expert advice and technical guidance.
  • Manage and develop existing accounts, identifying opportunities for growth, cross-selling, and repeat business.
  • Maintain regular engagement with stakeholders to strengthen client retention and satisfaction.

Technical Sales & Presentations

  • Conduct professional and engaging technical sales presentations to diverse audiences, including C-suite executives, procurement leaders, workplace strategists, and project teams.
  • Translate technical specifications and design requirements into commercially compelling solutions.
  • Present product capabilities, project proposals, and value propositions with confidence and credibility.

Tenders, Bids & Commercial Proposals

  • Lead the preparation and submission of tender responses, ensuring quality, compliance, and competitive positioning.
  • Manage electronic bidding processes (e-bids and e-auctions) where required.
  • Produce accurate quotations, commercial proposals, and project costings.
  • Support contract negotiations and commercial discussions with clients and procurement teams.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior sales, business development, account management, or specification sales role.
  • Strong technical sales background gained within manufacturing, engineering, workplace solutions, furniture, control rooms, specialist interiors, or related sectors.
  • Proven track record of winning major projects and delivering consistent revenue growth.
  • Experience producing quotations, commercial proposals, and tender submissions.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing effective sales strategies.
  • Strong new business development skills with the ability to identify and convert opportunities.
  • Experience conducting technical sales presentations to senior stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Exceptional relationship-building and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and financial awareness.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills.

Desirable Experience

  • Background within office furniture, workplace interiors, commercial fit-out, specialist manufacturing, or related sectors.
  • Existing network of contacts within the Financial Services, Banking, Trading Floor, Hedge Fund, or Investment Management sectors.
  • Experience working with architects, designers, workplace consultants, contractors, and end-user clients.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes, framework agreements, and electronic tendering platforms.
