£57,800 | Permanent | Hybrid Working

Swindon Borough Council is looking for a Senior Lawyer to join its Commercial and Procurement team at an exciting point for the organisation. This is an opportunity to work on high-value, high-impact projects within a supportive legal team that genuinely invests in its people.

The Role

This is a broad commercial role advising on a varied mix of contracts, procurement and governance matters across the Council. The successful candidate will advise on areas including: public procurement, commercial contracts, framework agreements, funding agreements and subsidy control.

You will work closely with officers and senior stakeholders, providing practical and commercially-minded legal advice on complex and often high-profile matters.

The role offers a high level of autonomy alongside the support of an experienced and collaborative legal team.

About You

We are open to applications from candidates from a range of backgrounds, including private practice, local government and wider public sector environments. You may already specialise in procurement and commercial work, or you may be looking to bring strong transferable experience into local government for the first time.
