About Supplement Factory
At Supplement Factory, we are passionate about creating top-tier supplements for brands around the world. Our success is built on innovation, operational excellence, and a commitment to exceptional client service. We are a global full-scale contract manufacturer for food supplements, supporting clients across product formulation, flavour development, sampling, product experience, compliance, manufacturing, and finished product delivery.
As part of our continued growth, we are expanding our technical and laboratory capabilities to support the development of innovative supplement products across powders, capsules, tablets, liquids, and functional nutrition formats. We are now looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Lab Attendant / Product Blender to support our Supplement & Flavour Laboratory team.
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Lab Attendant / Product Blender to join our New Product Development team. This is a hands-on, entry-level laboratory role suited to someone with a science background who is eager to learn, reliable in their approach, and comfortable working in a structured technical environment.
You will support our flavourists, chemists, and NPD team by accurately weighing, measuring, blending, labelling, storing, and preparing samples for supplement and flavour development projects. This role is highly practical and requires strong attention to detail, good organisation, and the ability to follow written instructions carefully.
Full on-the-job training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin their career in a supplement, food, flavour, nutraceutical, or laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities
● Accurately weigh, measure, and blend raw materials, including flavours, carriers, excipients, active ingredients, and other supplement components under supervision.
● Prepare supplement powder blends, flavour trials, and laboratory samples in line with formulation sheets and technical instructions.
● Follow formulation documents carefully to ensure each sample is prepared accurately, consistently, and to the required specification.
● Label, log, organise, and store samples systematically within the laboratory sample library.
● Maintain clean, hygienic, and orderly work areas, including benches, blending equipment, weighing stations, utensils, containers, and sample preparation spaces.
● Support the Senior Flavourist, Senior Chemist, and NPD team with day-to-day laboratory preparation tasks.
● Assist with sensory panel preparation, including sample coding, tray setup, portion preparation, and organising tasting materials.
● Record batch weights, observations, sample details, and results clearly in lab notebooks, formulation sheets, and digital logs.
● Carry out stock checks of raw materials, flavours, consumables, packaging materials, and sample containers, flagging low inventory to the senior team.
● Support the packing, labelling, and despatch of client samples, including preparation for courier collection and ensuring samples are presented professionally.
● Follow all internal laboratory procedures, hygiene standards, safety rules, COSHH guidance, and GMP processes.
● Assist with maintaining a tidy and organised lab environment to support efficient workflow and safe working practices.
● Handle raw materials carefully and responsibly, ensuring correct storage, traceability, and cleanliness at all times.
● Support general laboratory administration and sample organisation where required.
About You
We are looking for someone reliable, careful, and eager to learn. You do not need extensive laboratory experience, but you must be comfortable working with precise measurements, following instructions, and maintaining a clean and organised working environment.
You should enjoy practical, hands-on work and take pride in completing tasks accurately. This role would suit someone at the start of their career who has an interest in science, food, flavours, supplements, nutrition, chemistry, or product development.
Required Skills and Experience
● Strong attention to detail, particularly when weighing, measuring, blending, and recording information.
● Basic numeracy skills, with confidence working with weights, percentages, quantities, and unit conversions.
● Ability to follow written instructions, formulation sheets, and laboratory processes in the English language accurately.
● Good hand-eye coordination and a careful approach to practical lab tasks.
● Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working in a structured laboratory environment.
● Basic written and spoken English for sample records, labelling, logs, and communication with the team.
● Willingness to learn new processes, follow training, and ask questions when unsure.
● A clean, organised, and responsible working style.
● Ability to work well as part of a technical team and support senior laboratory staff.
Desirable Skills
● Previous exposure to a food, flavour, supplement, nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, or cosmetics laboratory.
● Internship, work experience, or practical training in a lab, food production, manufacturing, or technical environment.
● Familiarity with digital weighing balances, blending equipment, sample preparation tools, or laboratory utensils.
● Basic understanding of hygiene, safety, GMP, or food handling procedures.
● Interest in supplements, flavours, nutrition, food science, chemistry, or product development.
