VANRATH are delighted to be partnering with a well-established organisation in Belfast to recruit an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled infrastructure professional to join a growing IT team, supporting and maintaining critical systems while contributing to a range of exciting technology projects.
The successful IT Infrastructure Engineer will play a key role in ensuring the stability, security, and performance of the organisation’s IT infrastructure. This position offers exposure to modern technologies, project work, and a hybrid working environment, with the potential to secure a permanent role.
The Role
As an IT Infrastructure Engineer, you will:
Support and maintain server, storage, and infrastructure environments
Administer Windows Server environments and core Microsoft technologies
Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP
Support Microsoft 365 and Azure environments
Monitor infrastructure performance and proactively resolve issues
Assist with infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and improvement projects
Manage virtualised environments using VMware or Hyper-V
Support backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions
Work closely with Service Desk and wider IT teams to resolve escalated issues
Ensure infrastructure security best practices are followed
What We’re Looking For
To be considered for this IT Infrastructure Engineer opportunity, you should have:
Previous experience in an Infrastructure Engineer, Systems Administrator, or IT Infrastructure Engineer role
Strong experience supporting Windows Server environments
Excellent knowledge of:
Active Directory
Group Policy
DNS & DHCP
Microsoft 365
Azure
Experience with virtualisation technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V
Knowledge of backup and recovery solutions
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
Desirable
Previous MSP experience
Experience with Intune and SCCM
Exposure to networking technologies including switches, firewalls, and VPNs
Experience with Azure migrations or cloud transformation projects
Relevant Microsoft, VMware, or Azure certifications
