The University is keen to appoint an enthusiastic individual who will contribute to academic development in the area of Cyber Security / Computer Science. It is expected that you would have a record of research in the area (or be building one). You would be expected to have worked in delivering subjects to on‑campus students, and distance learners. In addition, it is essential that you have a willingness to develop your practical and theoretical knowledge and understanding of the following areas of Cyber Security / Computer Science – to include penetration testing, ethical hacking, programming, software security, AI techniques, and cloud and network computing. The team of staff you would be joining teach and support the delivery of modules with both a practical and theoretical focus.

You will be student focused, team‑oriented and flexible with excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational and presenting skills. Recent experience of teaching and assessing in HE in either face‑to‑face or distance learning mode is desirable, as is experience of module leadership and development.

Main Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver lectures and practical classes, assessments (and undertake marking)
  • Deliver training related to Encase, XRY and other cyber related tools
  • Supervise student projects ranging from BSc to PhD level
  • Contribute to the department’s quality processes, and course continuous monitoring
  • Work as an academic mentor to student groups
  • Develop cyber related research and funding opportunities within the department
  • Manage modules and course leader activities
