Role Overview

Engineering Systems SME – Permanent – Crawley, United Kingdom (Hybrid) – 40 hours per week (Full-time).

We have an exciting opportunity for you – Engineering Systems SME! Join a critical support environment where you can leverage your expertise in airline engineering systems and MRO platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Support 24×7 operations of engineering systems, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Deliver production support in line with defined service levels and KPIs.
  • Align closely with Engineering System and Application Support Managers.
  • Manage incidents, service requests, and operational activities across engineering systems.
  • Identify opportunities for service improvement and drive the implementation of best practices.
  • Maintain operational excellence through proactive monitoring and issue resolution.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to process optimisation.
  • Provide on-call support on a rotation basis to ensure uninterrupted service delivery.
  • Work flexibly to support global operations and business requirements.

Qualifications

  • Essential: Strong expertise in Engineering MRO systems, including platforms such as Trax.
  • Proven airline experience with a solid understanding of engineering systems applications.
  • Hands‑on experience with Airbus and Boeing system administration.
  • Strong knowledge of ITIL processes and experience delivering BAU support, including on‑call responsibilities.
  • Understanding of SLAs, KPIs, and service management processes.
  • Experience in Incident, Problem, Change, Release, and Request Management.
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability in managing operational responsibilities.
  • Attention to detail and ability to operate effectively in high‑pressure environments.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, engaging diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships across business and technology teams.
  • Strong organisational skills with experience working in fast‑paced environments.
  • Desirable: Airline domain expertise in aircraft engineering and maintenance.
  • Experience supporting large‑scale, mission‑critical engineering systems.
  • Exposure to 24×7 operations and global support delivery models.
  • Ability to drive service improvement initiatives within support functions.
