Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
Role Overview
Join Barclays as a Senior Android Engineer and play a key role in the ongoing development and technical evolution of a single, business-critical Android application. You will work on complex product features, contribute to architectural decisions, and help ensure the application remains robust, maintainable, and fit for long-term evolution. This role suits someone comfortable working in a mature codebase, balancing modern Android development with real-world constraints, and taking ownership of technical quality end-to-end.
Qualifications
- Deep expertise in Android Architecture and Dependency Injection (MVVM, Clean Architecture, modularisation, Hilt/Dagger).
- Strong experience in Reactive Kotlin Development (Coroutines, Flow) and Modern UI frameworks (Jetpack Compose).
- Proven ability to write Testable Code with a solid foundation in Automated Testing (unit and instrumentation).
- Experience with CI/CD and build pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Gradle optimization, Groovy).
- Strong scripting and automation skills (Groovy, Ruby).
- Familiarity with Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP).
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum, preferably within the financial services sector.
- Experience in tutoring Junior Developers.
