Position Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to join the experienced team at Katharine House Hospice. Palliative care is an approach that improves quality of life of patients and their families facing life‑threatening illnesses, through the prevention and relief of suffering by means of impeccable assessment and treatment of pain and other problems, physical, psychological and spiritual.
Katharine House Hospice is an NHS hospice within Oxford University Hospitals Trust specially designed to provide this care and support. OUH trust works in partnership with the Katharine House Hospice charity to provide an excellent service.
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, high‑quality nursing care while ensuring the best patient and family experience.
- Use professional judgment to resolve issues and provide compassionate support.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and a sensitive approach to difficult and upsetting situations.
- Work well under pressure and maintain a flexible approach to the workload.
- Suggest ideas for improvements to service delivery.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse with relevant registration and experience in palliative care.
- Strong personal values aligned with compassionate care.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Demonstrated enthusiasm, commitment and professional approach to nursing practice.
