Junior Clinical Fellow (FY3) – Commercial Research Delivery

Job Overview

This is a unique opportunity to work in the newly formed South London NIHR Commercial Research Delivery Centre (CRDC) with Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Trust (GSTT) as the hub and Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust as a spoke. The post holder will be based at LGT but this is an across-site role, and the post holder will be expected to travel across sites. The post is advertised at 8 sessions per week (Monday to Friday 9–5, no on calls, no unsocial hours), however we would consider 6‑8 sessions per week. This is a twelve‑month role aimed at those who wish to build on their research experience, develop their expertise as an Investigator, and work with commercial partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide an entry level medical role in commercial trial delivery.
• Support current Principal Investigators and strengthen the medical workforce for safe and effective research delivery.
• Facilitate and aid in the recruitment of patients to high quality clinical studies and trials, working flexibly across the Trust’s services.
• Take responsibility for the safe administration of experimental therapies and monitor the expected and unexpected side effects of drugs and other treatment modalities used in these trials where applicable.
• Serve as an ambassador for commercial research, focusing on medical colleagues at early stages of their careers.
