Igne is seeking to appoint a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join the Ground Investigation Division (GI England) located in Chester-le-Street, County Durham.
Responsibilities
- Collect, validate, and log subsurface data, including borehole logs, sampling records, and geophysical survey outputs.
- Perform geological interpretation of site data to develop factual logs and initial ground models.
- Contribute to technical reporting, preparing factual geotechnical logs, laboratory data summaries, and interpretative narratives.
- Maintain project schedules and resource allocations in collaboration with the Geotechnical Co‑ordinator.
- Support tender preparation by providing scope input, cost estimates, and technical write‑ups.
- Monitor specialist equipment usage and report any maintenance or calibration requirements.
- Oversee and manage ground investigation projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science or a related discipline.
- Previous experience in contract management of ground investigation projects.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and reporting abilities.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Full driving licence (travel required).
