About The Role:
The company are a specialist security provider delivering monitored alarm and CCTV systems to construction sites and void properties across the Midlands and South West / South East of England. They have an opening for a hands‑on field engineer to join their small, close‑knit team.
You’ll begin with a 1–2‑month structured training period working alongside an experienced engineer before taking on your own schedule independently. As the role progresses you will have a flexible calendar of service jobs/tasks that will be partially self‑managed allowing for flexibility and ownership of the role. 95% of the work is on construction sites installing and maintaining CCTV and wireless detection devices for the site office, compound and site perimeter.
Key Duties:
- Installation of monitored alarm and IP CCTV systems on active construction sites.
- Monthly servicing visits to maintain, re‑plan and update systems as sites evolve.
- Regular direct liaison with construction site managers — you’ll be the face of FM Security on site.
- Self‑managing a fixed schedule across sites in the Midlands and South West / South East of England.
- Occasional overnight stays for more distant sites.
- Working outdoors.
- Some work at height involved.
Candidate Requirements (desirable — not all required):
- Hands‑on field engineering: alarms, CCTV, networking, cabling, antennas or similar installations.
- Direct customer or client‑facing work.
- Familiarity with construction site environments.
- CSCS or ECS card — preferred but not essential; we’ll support the right candidate in obtaining one.
- CCTV experience (HIK Vision ideally).
Skills required:
- Good fault‑finding and analytical thinking.
- Self‑motivated with the ability to manage your own schedule.
- Confident communicator — good phone manner and comfortable talking to clients directly.
- Physically fit and comfortable working in a construction environment.
- Full UK driving licence – including manual vehicles (Essential).
- Basic computer literacy.
