Job Description:

The Role As An M&E Engineer, You’ll

  • Enforce rigorous compliance: ensure all electrical and mechanical maintenance obligations are delivered on time and in full compliance with JSP375 standards.
  • Assess competency & author RAMS: review and assess the technical competence of site personnel while producing high‑quality Risk Assessments and Method Statements for complex operations.
  • Provide professional safe systems advice: deliver expert internal advice regarding MoD Safe Systems of Work, identify asset deficiencies, and work closely with the Senior Management Team to protect estate safety.
  • Supervise & coach site teams: provide direct supervision, training assessments and professional mentoring to skilled persons and technicians, ensuring they operate safely within stringent defense regulations.
  • Collaborate across stakeholders: act as a core technical liaison between operational teams, supply chain partners, contractors, and public sector stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery and carbon reduction initiatives.

To be Successful in the Role

  • Mandatory defense background: a proven track record in defense infrastructure maintenance with a solid, demonstrable understanding of JSP375 compliance.
  • Core technical qualifications: fully qualified as an Electrical Engineer with experience managing resources, technical site operations, or teams at a senior or supervisory level.
  • AP status & salary banding: holding active Electrical or Mechanical Authorised Person (AP) tickets is highly preferred and unlocks the top end of the salary band (£45,000); the company will fund AP training if tickets are not held.
  • Logistics & demeanor: confident working independently, possessing a full UK driving licence, and willing to support a rare out‑of‑hours on‑call rota if required.
