Station Procurement Engineer – Heysham (Morecambe Bay) | Contract Opportunity
I’m currently supporting a major UK energy organisation in the search for a Station Procurement Engineer to join their team on a maternity cover contract running until the end of 2026, with a possibility of extension beyond this date.
Location: Heysham, Morecambe Bay (Fully Site Based)
Rate: Up to £24.64 per hour PAYE or £33.49 per hour Umbrella (DOE)
Contract: Until end of 2026 initially, with potential extension
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with a strong technical background who enjoys combining engineering expertise with procurement and supply chain activities. You’ll play a key role in ensuring critical station components and spare parts remain fit for purpose and aligned with original design intent.
Key Responsibilities
- Specify and evaluate engineering spares and components against original design requirements
- Support supply chain and materials teams with technical procurement activities
- Prioritise material requirements for both planned and emergent work scopes
- Review and develop quality documentation relating to procurement and repairs
- Support engineering change processes and component equivalency assessments
- Drive continuous improvement across procurement engineering processes and documentation
What We’re Looking For
- HNC, HND or Degree qualified in Mechanical, Electrical or C&I Engineering
- Strong engineering judgement and technical problem‑solving ability
- Experience within highly regulated industries such as nuclear, power generation, defence, oil & gas, petrochemical or similar environments would be advantageous
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and suppliers
