Role Overview

Work within the Cambridge Maintenance team based at One St Peters Square in Manchester, diagnosing and rectifying faults on various electrical systems within commercial installations. Undertake preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive works on a daily basis.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure that maintenance, servicing and repair works are carried out in accordance with Cambridge Maintenance and current relevant legislation.
• Communicate regularly and effectively with the client, suppliers and other Cambridge Maintenance personnel to maintain excellent professional working relationships and ensure smooth operation of the business.
• Organise allocated works and work efficiently within a team.
• Complete site logs and site diaries daily.
• Submit clear, concise and accurate task sheets and reports (with photographs) daily in support of works carried out, with clear recommendations for any further work required.
• Be able to undertake basic Plumbing/Mechanical works.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

Knowledge

• Electrical installation work within commercial properties.
• Fault‑finding of electrical equipment in commercial properties.
• Basic fault diagnosis and rectification on commercial fire alarm systems.
• Experience in emergency light annual testing.
• Experience with DALI lighting control systems.
• Experience with BMS control wiring and fault‑finding.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
• Full Electrical Apprenticeship (AM2 & NVQ).
• JIB registration (desirable).
• IPAF mobile access license (desirable).
• PASMA certificate (desirable).

• Mechanical knowledge.
• FM knowledge.
• Plumbing knowledge.
• PDA experience.
• Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
• Self‑motivated.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team and make calculated assessments of breakdowns.
