Business Support Officer – Planning and Building Control
Scale 4 (£26,403 – £28,142). 37 Hours, Full Time. Temporary, 12 months. Hybrid – Stopford House. Expectation of 2 days per week office presence. Stopford House, Stockport.
Your Role
Process, validate and record planning and building control applications, and carry out a wide range of administrative duties to support the smooth running of the service.
Work closely with planning officers, building inspectors and residents/agents, providing high‑quality administrative and customer support. The role requires attention to detail, use of IT systems and the ability to prioritize workloads to meet deadlines.
About You
Organised, detail‑oriented and capable of managing a varied workload in a fast‑paced environment. Preferably with administrative experience, strong IT skills, and the ability to process and check information accurately in line with procedures.
Excellent communication and customer service skills, proactive, reliable and adaptable, able to work independently and as part of a team while reflecting the Council’s values of collaboration, respect and high‑quality service.
