We’re partnering with a highly regarded national insurer to appoint a Development Underwriter in Scotland.
This is a newly created role within a growing regional operation, offering the opportunity to build broker relationships, drive new business growth and make a visible impact in the market.
You’ll have the backing of a well-established insurer, genuine underwriting authority and the flexibility of a home-based position while maintaining a strong presence across the Scottish broker market.
The Opportunity
This is a market-facing role with a strong focus on broker development and profitable growth across Scotland’s commercial insurance sector.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Developing and strengthening relationships with commercial insurance brokers across Scotland.
- Identifying, securing and underwriting new business opportunities.
- Managing and developing an existing broker panel and portfolio.
- Underwriting a broad range of commercial Property & Casualty risks within delegated authority.
- Acting as a trusted underwriting partner to brokers and key stakeholders.
- Contributing to the continued growth of the Scottish operation.

About You
We’re keen to speak with individuals who can demonstrate:
- Strong commercial Property & Casualty underwriting experience.
- Existing broker relationships within the Scottish market.
- A successful track record of winning and developing profitable business.
- Experience gained within an insurer, MGA or similar underwriting environment.
- Strong commercial awareness and relationship management skills.
- The ability to work autonomously while contributing to a wider regional team.
