We are currently recruiting a dedicated PMLD Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Whitworth from September. This is a full‑time, long‑term opportunity supporting pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) in a nurturing and highly supportive educational environment.
Responsibilities
- Support pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties throughout the school day
- Assist with personalised learning activities tailored to individual needs
- Support students with communication, sensory and physical development
- Work alongside teachers, therapists and support staff to deliver high‑quality care and education
- Promote student engagement, independence and wellbeing
- Provide personal care where required
- Create a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience working with children or adults with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
- A caring, patient and compassionate approach
- Confidence supporting individuals with complex learning, physical or medical needs
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Previous experience in education, care, support work, healthcare or similar settings is desirable
