Senior Support Worker – Occupational Opportunities

Position Summary

Senior Support Worker – 37 hours per week, part of the Care4CE Occupational Opportunities Team. Based primarily at Macclesfield Town Hall, you will support adults with mental health and learning difficulties in gardening and countryside volunteer groups across Cheshire East, while transporting equipment and managing logistics.

Responsibilities

• Provide driving support using the team’s vehicle to transport gardening equipment.
• Support adult volunteers with mental health and learning difficulties in outdoor gardening and countryside activities.
• Organise and manage group activities at multiple locations including Crewe, Sandbach, Macclesfield, and Knutsford.
• Ensure work is carried out safely in all weather conditions.
• Support service users and carers, developing positive relationships with community groups.
• Record attendance and any incidents, maintaining accurate logs.
• Work within a Social Care or Health Care setting, supporting group activities aligned with therapeutic outcomes.
• Adapt schedules and tasks to meet the needs of individual participants and the team.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a social care or health care setting with adult groups.
• Experience supporting people with mental health or learning difficulties.
• Valid driver’s licence and safe driving record.
• Good organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours – Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, with occasional early evenings.
