We are recruiting a Band 3 Healthcare Assistant to join the Intensive Care Unit (ECU) at Northwick Park Hospital, part of the Critical Care Services within London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust. The post holder will be responsible for delivery of excellent clinical care within the Intensive Care Unit working in close collaboration with nursing, medical and wider multidisciplinary team.
You will support the Critical Care team in caring for patients who are critically unwell with a wide variety of clinical tasks and care. As a dedicated and compassionate healthcare professional, your role is to contribute significantly to the care of critically ill patients within the Intensive Care Unit, while also supporting the entire multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent clinical care in the ICU in close collaboration with nursing, medical and multidisciplinary team.
- Support the Critical Care team in caring for critically unwell patients and performing a wide variety of clinical tasks.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment in accordance with infection control and health & safety policies.
- Assist senior team members in ensuring all equipment is in proper working order and take prompt action to facilitate repairs or escalated issues.
- Maintain minimum stock levels and follow local procedures for ordering and checking delivery of clinical and non- clinical supplies for the department.
- Contribute to the delivery of compassionate, high-quality care, prioritizing patient safety and adhering to national, local and trust practices.
- Engage in competency-based training and assessment and receive guidance from the unit’s practice development team for professional growth.
