Accounts Assistant – West Berkshire – c£30,000

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Assistant to join a well-established and successful organisation based in West Berkshire. This permanent position offers a varied role within a supportive finance team, making it ideal for someone looking to develop their accounting career and gain exposure to a broad range of finance responsibilities.

Key responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Matching supplier invoices to purchase orders
  • Processing employee expenses and petty cash transactions
  • Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies
  • Preparing payment runs, including BACS and cheque payments
  • Assisting with the preparation and distribution of management accounts packs
  • Reviewing timesheets to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Posting journals and carrying out financial analysis as required
  • Supporting the wider finance function with ad hoc accounting duties

Desired skills and experience:

  • Solid understanding of accounting principles
  • Previous experience working within a finance environment
  • Strong IT skills
  • Organised, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities while meeting deadlines
