Accounts Assistant – West Berkshire – c£30,000
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Assistant to join a well-established and successful organisation based in West Berkshire. This permanent position offers a varied role within a supportive finance team, making it ideal for someone looking to develop their accounting career and gain exposure to a broad range of finance responsibilities.
Key responsibilities of the role will include:
- Matching supplier invoices to purchase orders
- Processing employee expenses and petty cash transactions
- Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies
- Preparing payment runs, including BACS and cheque payments
- Assisting with the preparation and distribution of management accounts packs
- Reviewing timesheets to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Posting journals and carrying out financial analysis as required
- Supporting the wider finance function with ad hoc accounting duties
Desired skills and experience:
- Solid understanding of accounting principles
- Previous experience working within a finance environment
- Strong IT skills
- Organised, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities while meeting deadlines
