ASC Social Worker – Harlow North and South Integrated Neighbourhood Team
Permanent, Full Time
Pay: £38,487 to £51,834 per annum
Location: Harlow

We are looking for an experienced Social Worker to join our West Essex Neighbourhood team. The team operates in Harlow, forming part of a Neighbourhood approach linked closely with partners in health, housing and the voluntary sector. The Social Worker will support adults aged 18 and over across all specialisms, undertaking a wide range of duties under the Care Act 2014 from assessment, reviews, mental capacity assessments and adult safeguarding. The role focuses on early intervention, prevention and recovery to support adults to achieve individual outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Conduct Care Act assessments, reviews and safeguarding, including mental capacity assessments.
- Support adults to maintain independence and maximise potential.
- Collaborate with partners across health, housing, voluntary sector and community to build resilience.
- Coordinate early intervention and prevention strategies.
- Travel within Essex and beyond to meet clients and provide care.
Qualifications and Experience
- Qualified social worker with current Social Work England registration.
- Established experience in Adult Social Care, with knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act and Care Act 2014.
- Experience chairing multi-agency meetings involving clients, families, carers and professionals.
- Evidence of continuing professional development and competence in current professional standards.
- In‑depth understanding of the financial implications of commissioned care packages.
- Ability to make clear decisions and highlight and limit potential risks associated with intervention.
Driving / Mobility
Driving licence and car required, or the ability to meet the mobility requirements of the role through other means.
