Job Overview

The New Arrivals Team is looking for a Social Worker to join our vibrant and diverse team. This role supports Unaccompanied Asylum‑Seeking Children (UASC) across Manchester, ensuring the best outcomes from arrival to adulthood.

Responsibilities

  • Develop strong relationships with children, carers, families and multi‑agency partners to progress children’s plans.
  • Act as a team player, communicating effectively, remaining calm under pressure and solving problems.
  • Think creatively to support children to achieve their potential.
  • Seek opportunities for professional development and training offered by Manchester.

Qualifications

  • Social Work Qualification and registration with Social Work England.
  • Essential Car User – must hold a full valid driving licence, provide own car and receive the Essential Car User Allowance.
  • Enhanced DBS check (Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974).
  • Willingness to travel within Manchester city boundaries.
