Overview
We’re looking for a Campsite Assistant to work in Castle Ward. This role is all about making sure that people have their best possible experience of an outdoor holiday with the National Trust.
Salary: £13.25 per hour
Contract: Fixed term contract until 31-Oct-2026
Hours / working pattern: Seasonal, flexible, weekends. This is a zero‑hour contract, meaning we can’t guarantee a set number of hours each week. We’ll try to give as much notice as possible. The role includes weekends and Bank Holidays but does not require evening or split shifts.
Internally, within the National Trust, you’ll be known as an ‘Outdoors Holidays Operations Assistant’.
For this role, you’ll need to complete our online assessment instead of using a CV or online application form. This will help us understand more about your strengths and give you more information on the role.
You’ll help to keep the campsite and bunkhouse clean, well‑maintained and welcoming for all guests. This includes practical tasks such as cleaning, basic maintenance, reporting repairs and generally being a friendly contact for everyone staying here.
You’ll be greeting people, helping with their bookings and dealing helpfully with enquiries or complaints. You’ll also help to run the campsite shop when needed. Everything you do day‑to‑day will make a big difference to someone’s holiday and help to make things run smoothly and to the standard that guests expect from the National Trust.
