The facilities team are looking for several bank members of staff to join their team to support the cleanliness and patient feeding services in the hospital.

You may be required to work anywhere within the hospital. This is a bank position working as and when required. Shifts cover 365 days per year including weekends, Bank Holidays, Christmas and New Year.

If successful, you will be required to complete an initial 4 week training period which is compulsory.

Main duties of the job

  • This post is a role designed to support all cleaning and catering duties within the hospital.
  • The post holder is a member of a team dedicated to providing and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene in accordance with the Trust’s Standards of Cleanliness and Food Safety Legislation.
  • Working directly with team members, patients and visitors providing a safe and effective service.

Job responsibilities

  • Support the cleanliness and patient feeding services across the hospital.
  • Work flexible shifts 365 days a year, including weekends, bank holidays and major holidays.
  • Complete the required initial 4‑week training programme.

Person Specification

  • GCSE Maths and English Level 2 or ability to demonstrate effective standard of spoken English and use of mathematics.
  • Food safety awareness training or willingness to undertake induction and on‑the‑job training to meet food safety standards required for the post.
  • Previous experience of cleaning or catering within the NHS.
  • General experience of cleaning or catering duties.
  • Experience in an NHS environment or care setting.
  • Experience of working with customers.
  • Experience of cleaning.
  • Experience of catering.
  • Passion to work within the NHS.
  • Experience of working effectively within a team.
