Assistant Practice Manager (Camberley Health Centre) Maternity Cover

We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised and proactive Assistant Practice Manager to join our friendly and well-established primary care team.

This is a 7-month maternity cover position (with the potential to extend), starting mid to late October. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to further develop their leadership and operational management skills within a supportive and forward-thinking practice.

This is a varied and rewarding role supporting the Practice Manager in the day-to-day operational running of the practice. You will play a key part in ensuring high-quality patient services, smooth operational delivery, and ongoing service improvement.

You will initially work alongside the current Assistant Practice Manager before their maternity leave, ensuring a smooth handover and continuity of service.

We are looking for someone who is:

Experienced in primarycare or healthcare management

  • A confident team leader with strong organisational skills
  • Able to prioritise and manage a varied workload independently
  • An excellent communicator with a proactive, solutions-focused approach
  • Passionate about improving patient services and team performance

Experience using EMIS and/or Docman would be advantageous.

We are a friendly Practice, serving a diverse community ofapproximately 10k patient list. With a multidisciplinary team comprising ofGPs, Nurses, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Healthcare Assistant, MedicalAdministrator/Receptionists, Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technician

Experience

  • Experience of working with the general public
  • Experience of working in a health care setting
  • Experience of workforce planning
  • NHS / Primary Care General Practice experience
  • Experience of leading multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience of performance management, including appraisal writing, staff development and disciplinary procedures
  • Relevant health and safety experience
  • Experience of producing agendas and minutes for meetings

Qualifications

  • Good standard of education with excellent literacy and numeracy skills
  • Leadership and / or Management Qualification
