About the Role

You will work as a Support Worker at Sherwood House, a registered care home caring for 19 elderly residents in the village of Linby. You’ll provide practical and emotional support, helping residents live independently while respecting their choices.

Working Hours

All successful candidates will be required to work on a rota basis over a 24‑hour period, including weekends and bank holidays. A bonus is paid for waking nights. Shift patterns include 07:00‑15:00, 08:00‑13:00, 08:30‑12:30, 13:30‑21:30, 07:00‑14:30, 14:00‑21:15, and 21:15‑07:15 (waking night).

Responsibilities

  • Providing personal hygiene and care support to residents.
  • Encouraging community engagement and social activities.
  • Offering companionship and emotional support.
  • Assisting with moving and handling tasks and risk management.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Previous experience in hospitality or strong customer‑service skills.
  • Experience in a care role is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of age‑related health needs.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

Eligibility

Candidates who can drive will be highly desirable; the home is a 7‑minute drive from Hucknall High Street. Candidates travelling from Mansfield can use the 141 bus service to Nottingham; however, this service does not operate after 21:30.
