Admin Officer and 1:1 Teaching Assistant – Pitton Church of England Primary School

Location: Whiteway, Pitton, Salisbury, Wiltshire, SP5 1DT.

Contract: Temporary/Permanent, Part‑time – 24.25 hours per week for 38 weeks per year. Salary: £25,989 per annum (FTE). Actual salary: Admin Officer £11,332 per annum, 1:1 TA £2,852 per annum (pro‑rated). Closing date: 12 noon, Friday 3rd July 2026. Start date: 1 September 2026. Interview: 13 July 2026.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will provide effective administrative support to the school office while also delivering tailored support to a designated pupil to help them access learning and achieve their potential.

Responsibilities

  • Provide effective administrative support to the school office.
  • Deliver tailored support to a designated pupil to help them access learning and achieve their potential.
  • Use excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Work closely with school staff, parents and external professionals to contribute to the smooth running of the school and the wellbeing and progress of pupils.
  • Perform 1:1 Teaching Assistant duties, three 20‑minute sessions per day.

Contract Details

Working pattern: Monday to Wednesday, 9:00 am to 12:00 noon and 1:00 pm to 3:25 pm; Thursday to Friday, 9:00 am to 12:00 noon and 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. The two roles are linked; resignation from one requires resignation from the other, unless the 1:1 TA role ends due to the pupil leaving the school or no longer needing support, in which case the Administration role continues.

  • The role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974; an enhanced DBS check will be undertaken prior to employment.
