Position Summary
The governors of the Stalyhill Schools’ Federation are seeking to appoint a Level 1 teaching assistant for a fixed term contract of 1 year (in the first instance).
Key Qualifications
- Displays commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children and young people.
- The ability to provide 1:1 support to a child with SEMH needs
- Support appropriate communication and social interaction through a range of techniques
- Monitor progress and behaviours, reporting to the teacher, SENCO and relevant parties.
- Participate in training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Be patient, resilient, empathetic and demonstrate a positive attitude in challenging situations.
- Advocate for the child and form a positive relationships with both the child and family.
- Carry out small group interventions as directed.
- Flexible approach to work
- Able to show initiative.
- The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- The ability to work independently and part of a team including whole school.
- The ability to interact positively and professionally with pupils, parents and colleagues.
