About the Role

The Teaching and Research Fellow will:

  • Contribute to the development and delivery of educational programmes in character‑based leadership, especially for university students.
  • Engage in research on character and leadership as part of the Oxford Character Project.
  • Design and refine programme content and teaching materials drawing on the OCP’s research.
  • Manage student programmes by recruiting participants, facilitating workshops, hosting guest speakers, and overseeing events and administration.
  • Conduct collaborative theoretical and empirical research into character and leadership development, including designing and conducting quantitative and qualitative studies to gather feedback and evaluate impact.

About You

The successful applicant should:

  • Be close to completion of a doctoral degree in the humanities or social sciences related to character education and leadership development.
  • Have a strong track record in character and leadership education, supported by excellent theoretical and empirical knowledge.
  • Possess expertise in both quantitative and qualitative research methods suited to studying character and leadership development.

Role Details

Full‑time, fixed‑term for 2 years, available from 1 September 2026.

Salary (£): £39,424 – £42,794 per annum (pro‑rata), inclusive of a pensionable Oxford University weighting of £1,730 per year (pro‑rata).
