Bank Support Team Assistant – Domestic
Domestic Assistants support the Trust in delivering a clean and safe environment for both service users and staff.
We are looking for enthusiastic Bank Domestic Assistants to join our Facilities Team across our East Cheshire Sites.
Hours are as and when required. Duties will vary.
You must be mobile and work as part of a team and be flexible within your working approach, e.g. cover for annual leave and sickness. Previous experience in a domestic environment is advantageous; if not training will be provided.
Pay: RealLivingWage (RLW) hourly rate as set by the Living Wage Federation. A pay supplement applies if the national A4C hourly rate falls below this.

Main duties of the job
- Responsible for cleaning all areas in accordance with the NPSA national standards of cleanliness, following the approved CWP cleaning schedule and adjusting work routine if required for the needs of the ward/department.
- Accountable for cleaning all areas in accordance with COSHH regulations.
- Collect daily rubbish and take it to designated area.
- Wash up mealtime dishes for patients.
- Open up or close buildings as appropriate – only in exceptional circumstances with prior discussion.
- Inform porters/security about any security breaches if the building is empty.
- Order cleaning materials as required with your supervisor.
- Keep all equipment used in connection with duties clean and tidy.
- Report all faults on equipment to the domestic supervisor.
- Provide details of any untoward incident to administrative/senior nursing staff.
Qualifications
- General Education
- Hold or willing to undertake accredited Level 2 award in cleaning
- NVQ Level 2 in Cleaning
- Food Safety qualification
Knowledge and Expertise
- Ability to accept and prioritise instructions
- Previous NHS cleaning knowledge would be desirable
Experience
- Good understanding of cleaning services
- Previous experience in Domestic Services and/or catering
- Previous experience in dealing with the public
