The role of Retail Security Officer

• Providing a visible uniformed deterrent to contribute to the safety and security of the client’s premises and staff
• Carrying out company policy on loss prevention and ensuring the safety of staff and visitors
• Lawfully deter potential troublemakers on site
• Observe and report incidents using the correct reporting systems
• Carrying out all duties assigned by the client or manager
• Ensuring site knowledge is kept up to date
• Understanding and implementing fire and safety evacuation procedures
• Assisting with staff and contractor searches if required by the client
• Ensuring the security base is always maintained in a clean and tidy condition
• Conducting yourself in a manner that brings credit to yourself and the company, with SIA licence clearly displayed

The ideal Retail Security Officer

• SG/DS SIA licence required
• Aged 18 or over
• Confident communicator and team player
• Great communication and customer service skills
• Tech‑savvy enough to use digital devices for admin
